AgroThrive was founded in 2006 on a simple but powerful belief: organic waste isn’t waste at all - it’s an untapped resource that can be transformed into safe, effective nutrition for the soil.
Our story begins with Dragan Macura, a food scientist with a background in applied microbiology. During his career, he worked with fermentation and digestion processes across a wide range of materials, while noticing how much nutrient-rich food waste was being discarded. At the same time, he understood that modern agriculture had depleted soils of organic matter. His vision was simple: close the loop by turning waste into something that could restore soil health.
From the beginning, AgroThrive has been a family business. Dragan’s two sons, Marko and Mirko, grew up alongside the company and now lead it, continuing to build on that original vision.
Over time, AgroThrive became a trusted input for large-scale growers, the same farmers who grow much of the food we eat. But after years of working closely with them, Dragan noticed something surprising: the products trusted in agriculture weren’t the same ones available to home gardeners.
So we set out to change that.
By adapting our most trusted farm products for ease of use at home, we created a retail line that brings professional-grade nutrition into backyard gardens. Today, home gardeners can use the same core approach relied on by farmers to grow healthier plants and build better soil.
